Speculoos Barks

6 Dec 2016

Recipe

One of Belgium's favourite biscuits in a delicious chocolate bark.

Speculoos

Speculoos were traditionally made for special occasions, including weddings, births, and to celebrate St. Nicholas’ Fest on December 6th. Belgium’s talented bakers would decorate their speculoos in elaborately carved patterns. The
original recipe remains and makes the speculoos an instant favourite in Europe’s famous cafés. Speculoos continues to hold a lofty position in Belgian culture – every fifth cookie enjoyed in Belgium is a Speculoos.

Ingredients

  • 1,8 Kg of Carat Coverlux Milk SH
  • Speculoos

Working method

For 1 full sheet pan :

  1. Start by lining a baking sheet
  2. Break the speculoos into small pieces separately before adding them to the heated Carat Coverlux SH Milk.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate and spread evenly using a spatula by making it as thin as you like.
