Founded in Guatemala in 2002, UTZ means ‘good’ in the Maya language. It is a non-profit programme and a label for sustainable farming. It features on more than 10,000 different product packages in over 116 countries. As of 2014, UTZ Certified is the world’s largest programme for sustainable coffee and cocoa farming. The UTZ Certified programme is concerned with good agricultural practices, farm management and the environment.
