We, Puratos, an international supplier of food ingredients and services, have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG (EnBW) to secure solar-generated electricity for our operations in Spain. This renewable energy contract, which began in 2025, will provide us with 25 GWh of green electricity annually for over eight years, including Guarantees of Origin (GoO).
Jean-Philippe Michaux, our Chief Sustainability and Financial Officer, emphasized the significance of this partnership: “As a company committed to sourcing 100% renewable energy worldwide and achieving carbon neutrality in our operations by the end of 2025, we are thrilled to collaborate with EnBW to boost solar power production in Spain. This agreement not only helps us reduce carbon emissions globally but also aligns perfectly with our long-term sustainability strategy and vision. EnBW's extensive international portfolio and expertise make them an ideal partner for us.”
Matthias Obert, Executive Director Trading at EnBW, expressed his support for our sustainability efforts: “We are dedicated to providing our international customers with reliable, clean energy from our Pan-European portfolio. Supporting Puratos on their path to carbon-neutral operations underscores our commitment to being a leading supplier of sustainable energy across Europe.”
At Puratos, our commitment to sustainability goes beyond energy sourcing. We are dedicated to food innovation for good, leveraging the power of partnerships and collaborations with like-minded companies to achieve our sustainability goals. By working together, we can create a significant positive impact on the environment and society.
