Puratos is a FoodTech company and an innovator in the bakery, patisserie and chocolate sectors for over 100 years. We are constantly expanding our knowledge of food and its impact on people’s health & well-being. We are excited to share our latest insights in the area of gut health during the upcoming Probiota 2023 Event in Barcelona on February 6-8. We are proud to sponsor this illuminating event that enables companies to inspire each other and bring revolutionary developments to the food industry.

Connecting the business and science of the microbiome

Connecting the business and science of the microbiome, The IPA World Congress + Probiota 2023 will bring together the best speakers from scientific and business areas. The key themes running through the event will include Pre, Pro, Post Biotics & Synbiotics, the gut-brain axis, the state of the market (regulatory & retail), microbiome modulation and the opportunities of Phage and Pharmabiotics.

Join us for the round table discussion and learn more about the postbiotic and health effects of thermally treated fermented foods with Stefan Cappelle, Group Fermentation Director at Puratos.

Until recently, thermally treated fermented foods such as sourdough or pasteurized yogurts, have been excluded from the possibility of being used as probiotics sources due to the nature of their production process. ISSAP’s recent postbiotic definition as “a preparation of inanimate microorganisms and/or their components that confers a health benefit on the host” has opened the possibility of delivering biotics with products and solution that in the past were not suitable for this task due to their production process.

Attend the gut-brain axis panel discussion with Raluca Florea, PhD, Gut Health Leader, Health & Well-Being at Puratos and learn more about opportunities in the area of gut health.

The bi-directional interaction between the gastrointestinal tract and the nervous system, has created numerous opportunities to impact mental health, mood, sleep, stress management, cognitive performance and much more. This session will search for answers to a number of questions, including what the science actually says; how well findings from animal studies translate to humans; and which endpoints have the most commercial opportunity.
