Corporate

We are very proud to announce the launch of our new UHT (ultra-high temperature thermal processing) plant in Chile, the sixth of its kind globally and the third in South America. Belgian ambassador Christian de Lannoy, the President of the Chilean Belgian Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, Alain Kaczorowski, and the mayor of Cerrillos, Johnny Yáñez Díaz joined us in the opening ceremony.

Guillaume Bourneau, president of Puratos South America, Central America, and the Caribbean, highlighted that this inauguration marks a key step in consolidating a closer and more efficient production network, responding swiftly to market needs and users, and our commitment to sustainability.

The third UHT plant in Latin America

The new UHT plant covers an area of 4,000 m² and was built next to Puratos' existing production center in Cerrillos. It integrates state-of-the-art technology to ensure precise, efficient, and sustainable processes, including an automated control system and a photovoltaic park that provides renewable energy. Its operation will reduce dependence on imported products, speed up distribution in the country and the region, and improve the consistency and quality of final products.

The plant will produce three main product lines: whippable toppings using UHT technology and Sunset Glaze, a revolutionary plant-based egg wash alternative; and a soaking syrup Dulcerio used in Tres Leches cake. Additionally, it will have a pilot line for testing, trials, and innovations, facilitating continuous improvement and the development of customized solutions for clients.

Furthermore, automatic packaging solutions with recyclable materials and versatile formats have been incorporated, in line with the company's environmental commitment, with improvements that optimize quality and make the entire production process more sustainable.

“This duality of innovations positions the plant as a benchmark in operational efficiency and environmental responsibility, key aspects for Puratos' competitive positioning in the region,” said Bourneau.

Competitiveness and innovation

Operationally, the plant implements advanced automation, real-time monitoring systems, and strict quality protocols at all production stages. This includes periodic inspections of raw materials and finished products, as well as continuous training for technicians and operators, ensuring high standards in every batch. All these measures allow us to commit to our high standards for quality in a dynamic market.

With our commitment to the communities, our new plant is not only an investment in infrastructure but also social development. It will generate direct and indirect jobs and promote initiatives in education, technical training, and collaboration with local institutions.

“The plant will not only operate as a cutting-edge production center but also as a driver of social development, promoting training programs, collaborations with educational institutions, and community projects that strengthen social responsibility and environmental commitment,” concluded Bourneau.
