Belgium Minister-President inaugurates expansion of Pune facility
Sunday, April 24 2016, Geert Bourgeois, Minister-President of the Government of Flanders, led an economic delegation of 55 Flemish Companies to inaugurate the expansion of the Pune [Ranjangaon] facility of Puratos.
The delegation was among the largest from the region of Flanders in Belgium to visit India so far. Their visit to Puratos was to highlight the journey and success story of Puratos in India and particularly support its expansion plans for the Indian market. The Flemish Companies visiting Puratos along with the Minister-President of the Government of Flanders learnt about Puratos’ presence and accomplishment within the Indian sub-continent.
Formalization of the future expansion of Puratos India
The Official delegation gathered VIP’s such as the Minister President, Chief of Staff, two Cabinet Members, FIT CEO, Belgian Ambassador to India, Consul General in Mumbai, and the Trade Commissioner in Mumbai.
Minister-President Minsiter-President, Geert Bourgeois, commented on the visit saying "It is our commitment to strengthen business relationships, tie-ups and collaboration between Indian & Flemish businesses. We are also looking to meet several Indian investors who either have presence in Flanders, Belgium or are looking to make a market entry in Europe, Flanders in particular”.
Dhiren Kanwar, MD - India, Area Director South Asia, declared “It is a matter of immense prestige for Puratos India to have the foundation stone laid for the extension of our current facility at Ranjangaon in the hands of MP Geert Bourgeois. We are also grateful to have his support in formalizing the future expansion of Puratos India. This will incorporate new technologies that are not used by any other ingredient manufacturers in India yet.”

Bakery School in Mumbai
Being a good local partner is vital to our corporate philosophy all around the world. We attach great importance not only to sharing our own knowledge and skills with our business partners - the bakeries, supermarkets and food service companies to whom we supply products - but also to helping others who are less fortunate in the local communities.
That is why, in August 2014, we inaugurated our first Bakery School in India. It is located on the premises of the Shirvane School and Junior College in Nirva Mumbai and welcomes twenty-five students each year.
