Mobile laboratory for consumer preferences
Consumers are very demanding, particularly when it comes to what appears on their plates. Food should not just be about making our taste buds tremble with delight, it should also be pleasing to the eye. As a global leader in the food industry Puratos is more aware of these issues than any other company. That’s why no stone is left unturned in ensuring that its clients – bakers, patissiers and chocolatiers – develop products that are tailored to consumer requirements.
However, consumer preferences are constantly evolving and often vary at a local level. A new Sensobus has recently been brought into service to accurately chart these preferences. This unique, mobile tool, offers the opportunity to discover on the spot what the consumer thinks about the taste, aroma, texture, etc. of a product. It's therefore a quick and efficient way of approaching consumers and collecting valuable information.
In the coming months the Sensobus will be travelling through Europe to discover what consumers in France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy… will be enjoying tomorrow.
Puratos - reliable partners in innovation
The basis for Puratos' success lies in tracking the global consumer market. Puratos is a company that has been producing ingredients and semi-finished products for bakeries, patisseries and the chocolate sector for decades.
Thanks to the know how Puratos has accumulated into consumer preferences, the company knows exactly how to uncover consumer requirements and ultimately translate these into delicious and high quality products. The Sensobus is just one of the methods used in the process.
Sensobus
The Sensobus explores the consumer's sensory experiences when faced with a product or prototype. What does the product look like in terms of shape, colour, etc. Does it look appetising? Does it smell nice? What does it feel like when we pick it up and take a bite? Does it make a delicious, crunchy sound? Or not? What does it taste like?
Around 300 consumers can be interviewed per day in order to better understand their expectations and preferences. The Sensobus can be set up anywhere: supermarkets, shopping centres or even at events, etc., in fact at any location where there are consumers who are often very happy to participate in a tasting session. In brief, the Sensobus is a quick and efficient way for Puratos, and particularly its clients, to collect valuable consumer insights.

In the coming months the bus will be travelling through Europe. During the trip the bus will be used for research into the development of numerous new products. After all, for Puratos only the best is good enough and each product is tested and approved by a large consumer panel before effectively being brought onto the market. This once again confirms that Puratos is a reliable partner in innovation for each client and emphasises the company's drive for quality.
