Jonathan Léger, a patisserie demonstrator of Puratos International will participate in "2006 Ironman Japan Triathlon Goto Nagasaki" on May 28, 2006.

This is his recent situation report about preparing for Ironman Japan.

The last 2 weeks I has been pushing my body to the limit. Combining a full time job with top 10 Ironman ambitions takes a lot of energy.
Some days have been really long, waking-up at 5:30 going out for a one hours run, grabbing a breakfast and trying to relax in my car heading to the office.
After he work I'll practice a different discipline which is the bike rides.
Lost month he focused more than ever before on cycling, mainly because Ironman Japan is hilly, up and down. If you take a look to the bike splits from the previous years, you'll see that only a few guys stay under 5 hours.

My fellow Lucky had a brilliant idea let's go and explore the Belgium Ardennes, unknown field for them. I only knew the Ardennes from "Liege Bastogne Liege" and some other international cycling classics. In general if we need some hills, real climbing we drive to France. Perfect locations are the " Vosges" and for those who like the real stuff the "Alps".

Once you decide to race Ironman, there's no way back. Training in cloudy, rainy weather, oh my god, life can be hard, but even under conditions like this we raced like fools and had some splendid times. With trips of more than 6 hours you'll hope to become stronger, beat your competitors and being faster than ever.

Finally this week I am leaving, great after this hectic period.

The smallest details can make the difference on the race day. So you'll have to be aware that your bike and all other equipment are in the best conditions.

Puratos/Belcolade Japan is sponsoring me for this event, and I am really thankful for their support. Last Sunday he took off my pastry uniform and received my race outfit from Jacky Vergote, chocolatier at the chocolate museum "Choco Story" in Bruges.
To be honest it's looking fashion and it fits great. My body and mind are ready to compete. The 28th will be fur sure one of the hardest days of my life.
